Generating Aspirational Designs Worthy of the Beauty Industry
As the launch product for a start-up business, Fit Face needed to turn heads in an industry with high expectations. We were challenged with delivering a product which would sit comfortably in the elegant beauty and wellness world. Not only would this help the device be separated from the competition, but also help to enable a premium business.
Our concept phase explored a wide range of potential avenues, focusing on offering features which deliver an exceptional experience, with materials that are strikingly high end. The result is a product that feels exceptionally high value with a range of features that go beyond any market competitors.
Designing for Disassembly to Meet Sustainability Goals
The Fit Face brand has a strong sustainability arm, so it was important this was reflected in the product we developed. Given the high value of this device, we centred this work around extending its usable life and delaying disposal.
One of the core ways we strove to extend the product life was to consider disassembly. By deliberately choosing production and assembly techniques that were reversable, we were able to arrive at a design which can be refurbished, repaired, or part recovered.
Involving and Managing Lymphatic Researchers to Consult on Product Functionality
Fit Face is on the bleeding edge of the scientific understanding around the benefits of microcurrent therapy. In a market where companies are using false, inflated, or misunderstood information, we worked to bring a higher degree of accountability into the marketing claims by involving experts in this field.
We enlisted several university lecturers from around the world to consult on our work. This led to research into the potential lymphatic benefits of the product and the development of the programs built into the device.
Collaborating with Expert Engineers to Construct Seamlessly Integrated Electronics
The integrated electronics within Fit Face posed a uniquely complicated challenge. We brought in and managed external hardware and software engineers to elevate the project with an industry leading electronics system.
We collaborate closely with experts to elevate our projects. In this case, we knew it was important to work alongside the electronics team so that the outcome worked seamlessly with the design. We brought our experience in managing external experts to ensure the final product is cohesive and meets project specifications.
